The Trouble with Patience by Maggie Brendan
Patience Cavanaugh is a very determined female with no hope of marriage in sight. After the loss of the man she had planned to settle down with, she has instead chosen to take over her grandmothers boarding house. The town’s marshal Jedediah Jones has a reputation for hanging criminals, which happens to be the kind of man Patience does not want to associate with. Jedediah is need of a dependable source of food for the prisoners and Patience is in need of a strong man to do the hard work of fixing up the boarding house. What seems like a very simple arrangement turns into more than just a business partnership. As time passes Patience sees there is more to Jedediah then his reputation, can they set aside their differences to see what is in front of them.
